My Work.
Shame Imagery My ideas on shame If I could see shame, it would be an object or person that trembles and rolls up into a ball. This thing would be so embarrassed and scared that they wouldn't know how to act or what to do. If I could smell shame, it would smell like sweat and expired milk. Shame would taste fuzzy, salty, and bitter. Shame is something you would never want in your mouth. Shame would sound like screams that only came from somewhere in the background. And despite the fact that the person making the screams was putting all its effort into the scream you would barely hear it. If you could tough shame, it would be ice cold, slimy, and bumpy. Shame would quiver upon your touch because it is so scared. Shame is not something you want to be friends with. Letter to Pearl Dear Mother, After all these years, I've been thinking and wondering what your life was like. I come to see you as my hero. You were born into a life of sin and called the devil himself, but you blocked out all the sound. How are you the incredible women you are today? How did you meet dad and fall in love? I have so many questions for you mother. I just want you to know that I adore you so much. People may look down on you and call you names, but I will always be there to defend you. You will be remembered for generations and your legacy to our family will always be treasured. From, PJ (Pearl Junior) Genre-Short Story Mike was in his empty, quiet house laying on his bed. It was around 2 am and Mike couldn't stop thinking about the recent rumors. Rumor has it that a man in black has gone around town and breaks into houses just to kill the people inside. The cops say everything is fine, but everyone knows no one is safe. Mike was about to fall asleep when he heard a crack. Mike jumped out of bed and grabbed his baseball bat lying right by his door. He walked around his house slowly and quietly but nothing was there. Mike sat back down on his bed while looking out his window. He told himself he was just being paranoid and that he needed to get some rest, but all of the sudden out his window he saw a shadow dash across. Mike's heart skipped a beat. CRACK. He heard his front door get smashed. Mike had no idea what to do and decided to hide in the bathroom. It was also at this moment that Mike realized to call the cops he needed his phone which was in the basement. Mike slowly walked down the stairs quietly and quickly. For some reason, the criminals were no where to be found. He was able to get his phone and rush back to his hiding place in the bathroom. Maybe they left thought Mike. But it was at this moment Mike saw a shadow under the door to the bathroom. The door creaked open slowly and the last thing Mike remembered was a person in all black. Our Town If you died right now (like Emily), what memory would you go back to? If I died right now, I would go back to my best memory ever. My best memory would definitely be the cruise I went on in 2011. This was the first vacation all of my cousins, uncles, aunts, and grandparents all went on together. I remember this being the best vacation ever. The reason I would choose this memory is because of how close it brung my family and I. This was the time when I would become really close with my cousins and learn more about them. If I ever died this it the memory I would choose without a doubt. My family today is so important to me and I can never forget that. Our Town has taught me to treasure every moment in life and never take people for granted because you never know when they will be gone. Friends come and go but family is forever. Friendship What is friendship exactly? It's more than just being friendly to each other or even hanging out. Friendship is more of an idea than an actual action. We see friends as someone we simply talk to and have interactions with, but friendship is more than that. Friendship is trust and respect for each other. Being in a friendship means that you won't gossip about this person behind their back, you won't treat them like they are lower than you, and you'll always be there for them in their lowest times. Just because you claim you're "friends" doesn't actually mean friends. You can see how friendship is not used right in high schools today. High school students will one day be your friend but the moment something bad comes up about you they will forget you existed. Students always gossip and can spread news of someone who made some bad choices so quickly. Instead of always making fun of those in a bad place, we need to help them up and not make it worse by looking down on them. As a society, we need to start treating friendship as something more important. Friendship means so much and people always ruin the way it should be used. Friendship needs to be real not fake. I'd just like to say I have played a sport You say it's just a game and just a waste of time Forgive me but it is so much more than just a game What makes Murray High School? Our amazing student body as a whole and our important individual efforts make Murray the positive place it is. The student body as a whole does a great job of organizing assemblies, events, and themes throughout the year. These efforts create a feeling of togetherness and positivity. I think a student body is the centerpiece to every school. But having a good student body is what you want because it creates a friendly environment and makes school more fun. The majority of students are very accepting and friendly to all students. Our student body is very friendly and it makes me happy to say I am a Murray Spartan. Individual efforts I try to make to keep Murray great are being friendly, very accepting, and trying my best to follow rules and going to class. You never know what other students are going through and it’s important to treat everyone with kindness. The student body as a whole combined with individual efforts create the amazing Murray High I know. You are Murray. I am Murray. Together we are Murray. The American Dream The American Dream is an basically and idea. It is a belief and sort of goal for life. It is reaching the success and happiness in life everyone is pursuing. I think of a beautiful family and a stable life full of happiness and joy when I envision the American Dream. My family came from Vietnam when they each were only around 10 years old they came for a better life. A life free of worries and full of opportunity. The American Dream means different things to different people, but I think the common definition is hope for a better life. Right now I feel like I am living the American Dream because I am in a loving family and we are very happy with how life is going. In my future, I want to continue the life I am living and help others who are less fortunate reach their American Dreams. Moment or Place I've been playing basketball since I was a tiny kid. Today I am 17 years old and I still love the game. The moment that made me love basketball was when I was in 7th grade. I remember when this all happened. I was playing my championship game down by 10 with 3 minutes to go. Coming back seemed far out of reach. The coach kept telling us to keep pushing, keep working hard, and we can still win. But defeat was already in our eyes. Yet, we kept scoring and slowly we were only down by 2 points. I couldn't believe my eyes we could win the game. There was only 3 seconds left and it was our ball. We had enough time to get one shot off. The coach drew up a play and it was for me to shoot a three. We came out of the huddle and could almost see a victory coming. They in bounded the ball to me and I hoisted up a shot that seemed to float in the air forever. The horn went off and the ball soared softly into the net. I could hear the fans scream and my teammates rushed towards me. This is when I realized I love the game. poem no one likes being in fear Fear is the cause of our worries you can’t escape fear no one can escape fear Fear is the feeling that makes you scared the feeling that makes your palms swear a burden that weighs you down a feeling that won’t allow you to run For you can’t run away from fear Fear will hunt you down you can’t push it away or hide from it You have to confront it face fear and look it in the eye you have to conquer it eventually fear will fear you |
